The Art of Thistle and Stone
I have always made things. Paint, clay, fabric, wool - each has passed through my hands at different times, shaping the seasons of my life. My first paints were a gift from my grandfather, a small watercolor set on his back porch, the light slanting in just so. That was the beginning.
I studied fine art and music at the College of Alameda in California, later continuing my education at the University of Colorado in Denver. Over the years, my work has found its way into galleries, boutiques, coffee shops and breweries - places where art and community meet. Many pieces have sold straight from these walls, going home with someone who connected to them in a quiet, wordless way. Each time, it has filled me with a kind of wonder - that something made in my small studio could travel into another life and bring beauty there. It has been one of the great joys of making: to create in solitude, but to share in community.
For me, art has never been only about the finished thing. It is the process - the clay spinning on the wheel, the dye blooming into wool, the way a brushstroke sometimes lands in surprise. These moments are what I carry with me, and what I offer through the work you see here.
Thank you for being here, for seeing these pieces and the hands that made them. More will be coming soon - clay vessels cooling on the shelf, wool art still gathering on the loom. Each one will finds its way here in time, as slowly and quietly as they were made.
