At The Piano

The summer recital felt a little like magic - string lights hung from the ceiling, parents leaning forward in their seats, young hands finding their way across the keys. There were country pieces, pop songs, and even a garage band moment that brought the house down.
Teaching piano has become one my quiet joys. I've watched shy children sit up straighter with every lesson, seen their confidence grow as music opens something inside them that words sometimes can't. Some go on to study more seriously, others simply carry music alongside their lives - but all of them remind me why I keep teaching: because music has a way of keeping the light on inside us.
