October Update: Wind, Wool & Witch's Brew

Sourdough Sale!
Sourdough Sale!

The Hilltop Schoolhouse Craft Fair was one for the books - I nearly sold out of bread, coming home with only three loaves! The day brought new friends, creative kindred spirits, and a reminder of how good it feels to belong among the makers. Even when the wind decided to test my tent (snapping two legs in the process!), the spirit of the day stayed bright. It was wild, beautiful and full of laughter - just the way I like it.

Sourdough

The Witch's Brew loaf has been a huge hit - rich black cocoa and chocolate chips folded into my signature healthy sourdough. It tastes like dessert but has no added sugar beyond the chips themselves. It's dark, mysterious, and just the right kind of October magic. Available only through October 31st - before it vanishes into the mist.

Wool

I've been dyeing wool in fun shades and just made my very first art batt - a shimmering blend of Corriedale, Romney, Polypay, Suri Alpaca, silk, and a touch of Angelina sparkle. It's like holding a small galaxy of fiber in your hands. More art batts are coming soon and will be listed in my Etsy shop.

Art

Pottery ornaments are now being listed in my Etsy shop too, and my newest clay sculptures will be on display at the next Hilltop Schoolhouse Show on November 22. Meanwhile, back in the studio, there's a new painting in progress - and yes....there are sheep involved!

Music

My music students have officially picked their holiday pieces, and the joy of the season already feels close. I'm hoping to offer them a chance to share their music with the community this year - possibly by playing at a local hospital or an assisted living center. More details to come, but the thought of their music bringing warmth and light to others fills me with so much excitement and gratitude.

Wool Woman's Journey

The bulk of my Wool Woman draft is now complete - just a few more chapters to go before I begin organizing and expanding. It feels surreal to see this long, winding journey take shape on the page.

Wind, wool, music, and wild inspiration - that's October around here.
